     Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away     at Toni & Trish House, age 94.  Virgil was born March 25, 1925 in Bay City to the late Leslie and Albertha (VanHamlin) McMann.   He married Barbara Etue and she predeceased him.  He later married Geri Jamison and she predeceased him as well.  Virgil was a veteran of the US Army and served his country from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific.  He retired from C & O Railroad in 1985 after 34 years of dedicated service.  He was a member of the Tri-City Worship Center in Auburn, the Moose Lodge #88, Eagles Club Aeries #1010, 3rd Degree Brother Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #4102, 4th Degree Sir Knight of the Bishop Murphy Assembly #0491 and was a life member of the VFW in Bay City.  Virgil enjoyed bowling, golf and working in his flowers.

     Surviving are four daughters: Sandra Damore, Michelle (Paul) Grzesiak, Debra (Larry) Pacynski and Penny Erskin, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother Robert (Pat) McMann and very special friends Cheryl and Virgil’s neighbor Greg.  Virgil was predeceased by two sons, Patrick and Dennis McMann, one daughter Pam Varner and a son-in-law Joe Damore.

     Per Virgil’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Military Honors, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Honor Guard will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 6:00 PM at Squires Funeral Home. Followed later by a Celebration of his life at 7:00 PM.  Pastor Mark Alba will officiate and private inurnment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.  In conjunction with the Service for Virgil, members of the Knights of Columbus Council #4102 will have their Bible and Chalice Presentation at 7:00 PM as well.  Friends may call at Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.   Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to Toni & Trish House or Family Wishes.
