Wenglikowski, Patricia Marie
Bay City, Michigan
Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at Brian’s House, with her family by her side, on November 18, 2019, at age 87. (Heaven welcomed one classy angel that day.) Patricia was born on February 26, 1932, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Aloysious F. and Lucille (Zielinski) Kowalkowski. On October 6, 1951, inside St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Bay City, Patricia married the love of her life, Edward D. Wenglikowski. Ed preceded her in death on June 2, 2010. Throughout Patricia’s life, she played many roles; she was most proud of being a mother and raising her six wonderful children. She also was instrumental in the operations of her family’s trucking business. She was a longtime member of St. Hedwig Church (now Corpus Christi Parish). Patricia also was an active member of the “Girlfriends” card club and the Jaycees, was an avid bowler and golfer, and especially enjoyed pushing her luck at the casino with her good friends. Although she had many joys in life, nothing compared to the time she was able to spend with her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she was their biggest fan in the crowd at any sporting event they were involved in. According to her family, Patricia always liked to have a good time and lived life to the fullest; if the car was moving, she was always in it. And even during her illness, she steadfastly remained a rockstar. Patricia will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her five children, Cheryl (Larry) Jacobs, Timothy (Susan) Wenglikowski, Mark Wenglikowski (Margaret Guzzardo), Jean (Howard) Miller, and Tina (Steven) Mueller; son-in-law, Terry Laskowski; grandchildren, Michelle (Toby) Dunmore, Wendy (Jay) Gravelyn, Marc Jacobs, Kristi (Russ) Dinsmore, Jered (Amy) Wenglikowski, John (Kelsey) Laskowski, Beth (Chris) Lowry, Patrick (Amber) Laskowski, Michael (Rachelle) Wenglikowski, Tracy (Matt) Urbanski, Kelly Guzzardo (Chas Reimer), Kathryn (Paul) Gaiser, Anthony Guzzardo (Lindsey Haines), Grant Miller (fiancée Leeann Owens), Blair Miller, Brooke Bukowski (Adam Olson), Paige (Michael) Buss, and Blake Mueller; twenty-two great-grandchildren; brother, Art Kowalkowski; sister-in-law, Theodora Nogaski; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Patricia is finally reunited with her husband, Edward D. Wenglikowski; daughter, Anne Laskowski (December 31, 2010); parents, Aloysious F. and Lucille (Zielinski) Kowalkowski; sister, Dorothy (Fritz) Sniecinski; sister-in-law, Geraldine Kowalkowski; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25, at Corpus Christi Parish – St. Hedwig Church. Celebrating will be Rev. Fr. Robert Kelm. Patricia’s family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 24, at the Ambrose Funeral Chapel from 1 to 7 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Parish Vigil Service will be held at the Ambrose Funeral Chapel at 6 p.m. Sunday. Private Family Committal Prayers and Entombment will take place at St. Patrick Mausoleum in Bay City, Michigan.
