Marguerite H. “Mickey” Parker
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Toni & Trish House after a short illness, age 99. She was born September 18, 1918 in Saginaw, MI to the late William and Laura (Wilk) Scull. Mickey graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1936, married and raised her family in Bay City. From 1970 to 1990 she owned and operated Mickey’s Decoupage Shop. She was very creative, doing all kinds of art and spending time in her garden. In 1986, fifty years after graduating from high school she received an Associate’s Degree from Delta College under a program that allowed senior citizens to attend classes free of charge. Recently she was able to endow a scholarship at the college in order to assist others with tuition assistance.
Survivors include her children: Fred (Jane) Brown, Dr. Susan (Frank) Johnson and Jean (Michael) Ciaciuch, five grandchildren: Michael (Jackie) Brown, Steven Biron, John (Stephanie) Brown, Douglas (Lee) Biron and Dr. William (Dr. Esther) Johnson, nine great grandchildren, two sisters in-law, Delores Brown and Velma Brown, many nieces and nephews. Mickey was predeceased by her husbands, John J. Brown in 1954, Willard D. Parker in 2007 and a daughter and son in-law Judith K. and Robert T. Biron.
