Kay A. Dominowski

June 22, 1936 ~ October 6, 2018 (age 82)

After a brief illness, one of God’s servants passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday October 6, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region.  Kay, age 82, was born to the late Robert and Esther (Sampson) Plessner on June 22, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan.  She resided in Bay City her entire life and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Vincent DePaul Church.  Kay married the late Ralph G. Dominowski in St. Hyacinth Church on April 28, 1956 who preceded her in death on June 10, 1992.  By marrying Ralph, she got not only a loving husband but a wonderfully large extended family, whom she was very fond. Her family will always remember her as being a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  For Kay, family came first, and she imparted a sense of familial duty and love to those who knew her. Her strong, silent faith gave comfort in trying times.

Kay worked at Peoples National Bank, which eventually became PNC Bank, in various roles for over 35 years.  She loved to read most any kind of novel and loved Jazz, especially Dixieland Jazz. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint and quilting.  Kay loved to travel, whether short trips to see family and friends, or more extensive trips like visiting the Holy Land and Egypt.

Surviving family members include her children: Pamela (Michael) Wing, Lori (Randall) Mobley, and Gerald (Janet) Dominowski; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Her large extended family brought her many brothers, sisters (she hated the term “in-law”… they were FAMILY), and many nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl McCloy.

The Funeral Mass for Kay will be celebrated Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish- St. Vincent DePaul Church. Fr. John Sarge will preside and interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call Squires Funeral Home on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. and at church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  A Parish Vigil Service for Kay will take place at Squires Funeral Home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider “Family Wishes”.

Family would like to thank the physicians and staff at McLaren Bay Region NICU Critical Care Unit for their wonderful support, compassion and care during this difficult time.  www.squiresfuneralchapel.com
