Our loving mother and “Nana” passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center, age 87. She was born December 8, 1929 in Bay City to the late Carl and Amelia (Wojewoda) Kondziola. She married Peter P. Lutenski in St. Hyacinth Church on September 17, 1949 and he predeceased her on January 11, 2010. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, the Rosary/Altar Sodality group #50, Felician Sisters Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, League of Catholic Women and Men. Geraldine was also very active for many years helping at the funeral breakfasts on group #1.
Surviving is her daughter Geralyn Woody, three grandchildren: Gregory (girlfriend, Jill) Woody, Janae (Ogun) Kaptan and Julie (boyfriend, Jordan) Woody, great granddaughters, Zeynep and Elif, two sisters: Elaine Christensen and Bernice Sutkowi, and a sister in-law Rita Salgat. Geraldine was predeceased by a special son in-law John Woody, a sister Eleanor Marciniak, brothers in-law: Stanley, John (Mary), Tony, Andrew (Edna) and Kelly “Alex” (Gloria) Lutenski and Adrian “Ed” Marciniak, Chuck Salgat, Rudy Sutkowi and a sister in-law, Ann (John) Gembarowski
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 7:30 pm and at church on Tuesday after 10:00 am. Members of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, St. Stanislaus Rosary/Altar Society group #50, Felician Sisters Auxiliary and Senior Citizens will pray the Rosary Monday at the funeral home at 2:00 pm, followed later in the evening with a Parish Vigil Service for Geraldine at 6:30 pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to McLaren Hospice.
Geraldine's family would like to thank all the staff at Bay Shores Nursing Center and McLaren Hospice for their kind and compassionate care they gave her during time spent with them.
