Virginia M. “Ginny” Birney
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, age 83. Ginny was born September 24, 1934 in Warren, Ohio to the late George and Mary (Fender) Robincheck. She married David R. Holland on August 25, 1956, he predeceased her. Ginny later married Thomas C. Birney on November 17, 1994 and he predeceased her on July 11, 2008. She retired from National City Bank in 1994 and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary’s Church. Ginny enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and was involved in many activities. She will be remembered as a compassionate, caring and gracefully honest person. She had a beautiful soul and a wonderful sense of humor. She always saw the best in others and had a gentle way of bringing them together. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving are three children: Linda (Bob) Gehrls, Caron (John) Teenier and Bridget (Mike) Leibinger, five grandchildren: Michael and Matthew (Krista) Gehrls, Evan Leibinger, Sarah (Jake) Ureche and Katie Leibinger, three sisters in-law: Barb Graves, Jean Burdo and Joyce Birney, and brother in-law Richard Mazarik, niece Lisa Mazarik, several other nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Ginny’s deceased family includes: a son Thomas A. Birney, two sisters, Mary Ann Mazarik and Arlene Robincheck, brother in-law Sidney Moiles, sister in -law June Levi, one niece April Wogan, a nephew Richard Mazarik and a great nephew Tommy Wogan.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary’s Church. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will celebrate Mass. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass.
