Stanley W. Szczypka, age 87, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Thursday December 7, 2017 peacefully while at his home.  He was born July 5, 1930 in Bay City to the late Stephen and Mary (Wojewoda) Szczypka.  Stan served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict for two years.  He worked for Bay City Chevrolet before retiring from U.S. Postal Service after 34 years of service.  Stan married the former Caroline H. Cieslinski on October 19, 1957 in St. Stanislaus Church and she survives him.  He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church, St. Hyacinth A.C. and the U.S. Postal Union #187.  Stan was a very talented drummer and played in local polka bands for over 50 years.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, especially the trips with his sons, family and friends.  Stan was a dedicated and caring employee of Ambrose Funeral Home and Squires Funeral Home for over 27 years.  Surviving besides his wife Caroline, he leaves three sons, David (Susan); Mark (Michele); John Szczypka; and five grandchildren, Twins - Ben & Noah and John – Paul and twin girls, Madalyn & Megan.  Also surviving is a brother, Robert Szczypka; sister in-law, Jeanette Pawlaczyk; a brother in-law, Jim Cieslinski; several nieces, nephews and dear friends, Bob and Clarice Anthony and Ron and Marge Janasik.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Alex and John; sister in-laws, Janet Szczypka, Wanda and Gerry Cieslinkski; brother-in-law's Frank Cieslinski and Dick Pawlaczyk.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 9:00 a.m.  There will be a parish rosary service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday followed by a family prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider McLaren Hospice or St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor (Cardiology).  Please specifically name the deceased in the donation link here or giving.stjoeshealth.org.
