September 23, 1948 ~ October 5, 2019 (age 71)

Robert E. Studniarz

Robert Edward “Bob” Studniarz passed away at his home on October 5th, 2019 from complications of dementia.   He was 71, born on September 23, 1948 to the late Edward Studniarz and Leota (Ward) Anthony.   He attended Woodside Elementary and Bay City Central High School.   In 1967, Bob joined the Marine Corp and proudly served our country in Vietnam.  Upon his return from the service, he worked at Dick’s Body Shop for his brother-in-law, Dick Little.

On April 8, 1972, Robert married Linda A. Maciejewski in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Bay City and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage.  Later that year, Bob hired into Bay City Electric Light and Power as an apprentice lineman and worked his way up to Operations Superintendent on September 2, 1998.  Bob was instrumental in the lighting of the football field at the St. Stan’s Athletic Club, home field to All Saints Cougars.   He worked for many years as part of the set-up crew, lighting the grounds for the annual St. Stan’s A.C. Polish Festival, then enjoyed polka dancing till it was time to pack away the lights and wires for another year.  He was named a life member of the St. Stan’s A.C. and was a former usher for the parish church. He and his family were very proud of his accomplishments.

Deer hunting, duck hunting and turkey hunting with his nephews and friends were a highlight every year.  He was also an award- winning wood carver of wildfowl, an intricate art form which he embraced for many years.  Bob enjoyed many summers of golf with family and friends.  Celebrating almost 19 years of sobriety, he was grateful to the many friends he made along the way, especially at Pathways Aftercare, at Health Source in Saginaw.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda, son John (Angenette), and daughter Anne (Jason) Clayton,  his awesome grandson, Robert George Studniarz;  also his sister Sharon Loree, brother David Studniarz,  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:  Rick Asselin, Carol and Michael Kettel,  Bill and Jan Maciejewski, Mark and Chris Maciejewski, Tim and Lisa Maciejewski, along with several nieces  and  nephews.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Catherine, his nephew Jed Studniarz, brother James Studniarz, sisters Shirley Studniarz,  Darlene Little, Marilyn Kaczorowski, and Susan Asselin and his brothers-in-law Richard  Little and Dr. Joseph Loree, and his father- and mother-in-law Leonard and Bernadette Maciejewski.
