 Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend to all who knew him passed away peacefully Monday, April 29, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, age 85.  Robert was born May 19, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Stephen and Mary (Wojewoda) Szczypka.  He married Janet Y. Tressic in St. Mary’s Church on June 23, 1962 and she predeceased him on December 8, 2015.  He was a veteran and served his country with the US Army from 1953 to 1955.  Robert retired from Bay City Powertrain after more than 40 years of dedicated service.  He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and dedicated to his faith and Christian up-bringing.  Robert was an avid golfer and played on various leagues over the years.  He enjoyed all sports and over the years became his grand children’s biggest supporter in all of their events.  Robert loved God and his family with all of his heart.  He would often state his famous quote to them, “God is good” just to let them know everything is okay.

     Surviving are three children: Ken (Maureen) Szczypka, Lori Szczypka and Lynn (Jeff) Berger, 8 grandchildren: Megan (Brandon) Wolshleger, Erin (Justin) Munson, Alison (Dennis) Bembenek, Caitlin (Matt) Taggart, Eddie Szczypka, McKenna, Austin and Abbey Berger, seven great grandchildren: Elizabeth Szczypka, Luckia, Shanelle, Declan and Kinnia Munson, Clark Bembenek and Luke Taggart, two sisters-in-law, Caroline Szczypka and Nancy Miller, two brothers-in-law, Dennis (Kaye) Tressic and Rev. David Tressic, many other close cousins, relatives and friends. 

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City, MI 48708.  Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and entombment will be in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum.  Friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and at church on Thursday after 9:00 am.  Members of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish will pray the Rosary Wednesday at 2:00 pm, followed later that evening by Military Honors under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Honor Guard and a Parish Vigil Service for Robert at 6:00 pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to All Saints Central High School.  www.ambrosefuneralchapel.com
