Robert W. DuemlerSeptember 25, 1922 ~ November 10, 2017 (age 95)
Robert W. Duemler, age 95, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 25, 1922 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Walter M. and Dorothy (Banister) Duemler. Bob married the former Louise P. Mennes on November 29, 1941. She predeceased him on May 13, 2003. He served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bob worked for Grede Industries for many years before retiring. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. Bob enjoyed baking, working in his yard and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are six children, Joyce (Don) Comtois; Dorothy Schultz; Barb Duemler; Mary Duemler; Walt (Ann) Duemler; Jim (Joanne) Duemler; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Janet) Comtois; Mike Traxler; Timothy (Carin) Comtois; Ken Schultz Jr., Joseph Schultz; Jenni Reid; Jason (Nicole) Duemler; Bob (Jacquelyn) Duemler; Lisa Jean; Becky Smith and twenty seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters and one brother, Betty Rhodes; Mary Jane Lockwood; Nancy Thompson; Jackie Selbach; Richard Duemler; Pat Truszkowski; Janet Stephens and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Donna Traxler; two sisters, Marge DeVries; Arlene Sturgis a son in-law, Kenneth Schultz Sr. and brother’s in-law and sister in-law, John DeVries; Harry DeVries; Clayton Rhodes; Darryl Lockwood; Roger Thompson; Joseph Selbach; Marilyn Duemler; Tom Truszkowski; Arnold Stephens and Don Sturgis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish – St. Vincent DePaul Church. Fr. John Sarge will officiate with private burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. There will be a parish vigil service for Bob at 6:00 p.m. Monday. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Huron Woods Nursing Home or St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
