Mary E. Morand (Tenny)
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Bay Valley House, age 82. Mary was born November 23, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Roy L. and Margaret (Fritz) Tenny. She married the love of her life, Mark E. Morand in Visitation Catholic Church on September 10, 1955 and he survives her. Mary volunteered for many years at Visitation Church as a Home Economics teacher, Lay Minister, cafeteria aid and Parish Secretary later on in life. She was employed for many years at People’s National Bank as a Supervisor in the Bookkeeping Department. Mary then was the secretary for Bay County Growth Alliance and bookkeeper for St. Vincent DePaul Store. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and spent many hours helping her husband Mark at the Food Pantry. Mary loved taking care of her grandchildren and attending their activities every chance she could.
Surviving besides her loving husband Mark are seven children: Carol (Tim) Smith, Mark E. (Joddy) Morand Jr., Patrick (Beth) Morand, Teresa (John) Hamilton, Donald (Teresa) Morand, Kathleen (Tracy) Reeves and William (Christy) Morand; 30 grandchildren: Bethany and Tricia Foldie, Aubrie and Amanda Smith, Mallory (Riley) Pratt, Megan (Michael) Hayes, Heather, Todd (Sara) Morand, Kaysie, Marlee, Logan, Patrick, Ellen and Jacqueline Morand, Jennifer (Michael) Dalleau, Adam (Kelly) Hamilton, Joseph (Jennifer) Morand-Hamilton, Allison Hamilton, Rebecca, Alec and Jacob Morand, Patricia (Ryan) Taylor, Jessica, Phillip, Jeffery, William and Jennifer Howe, Olivia, Brenton and Tayler Morand and 29 great grandchildren. Mary had four brothers, Roy (Jane) Tenny, John Tenny, David (Kendra) Tenny and Peter (Jeanne) Tenny. She also has a sister in-law Mary Fay (Richard) Watson, brother in-law Ralph (Cheryl) Morand and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mary was predeceased by brothers: Roy, John and David Tenny.
The Family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Karen and the staff at Bay Valley House and Hospice for the excellent care and love shown to Mary during her prolonged illness.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary’s Church, 607 E. South Union Street, Bay City, Michigan 48706. Fr. John Sarge will celebrate Mass. Friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1200 Garfield Ave., Bay City, MI 48708 on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Tuesday after 10:00 AM. A Parish Vigil Service for Mary will be held Monday at 7:00 PM at Ambrose Funeral Home.
