Mary A. Guzdzial
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region, age 70. The daughter of Edward and Joanne (Senske) Lanczak she was born August 1, 1947 in Bay City and has lived here all her life. While in high school she met her sweetheart Paul R. Guzdzial. They married October 21, 1967 in St. Hyacinth Church and Paul survives her. Mary was a retired beautician and former dispatcher for Monitor Township Fire Department. She was a member of TOPS MI 1145 for 35 years and held their Weight Recorder position for most of those years. Mary was also a member of the Monitor Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and more importantly being with her family.
Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Paul, their two daughters, Renae Rochow and Sherry Kazee, five grandchildren: Samantha, Rachel, Marissa, Addison and Grayson, Mary’s mother Joanne Lanczak, three sisters: Sue Miller, Deb (Richard) Walsh and Deanne (John) Stefanovsky, one brother in-law Larry (Ann) Guzdzial, one sister in-law Eileen (Larry) Allison, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her father Edward Lanczak and also her father and mother in-law, Sylvester and Geraldine Guzdzial.
The Funeral Mass for Mary will be celebrated Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Parish-St. Hedwig Church. Fr. Robert Kelm and Fr. Kevin Kerbawy will concelebrate Mass. Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. No visitation will be at church on Tuesday before Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”
Mary’s family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and emergency room staff at McLaren Bay Regional for their compassionate care they gave Mary.
