     Our precious father, PAPA, and brother passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Bay County Medical Care Facility, age 88.   He was born March 27, 1929 in Akron Township, Michigan to the late Otis Glenn and Bessie (Thomas) Haggitt.  Lyle married Genevieve Wisniewski on November 6, 1948 and she predeceased him on January 31, 2012.  He retired from Bay City Chevrolet-Powertrain in 1991 after more than 41 years of dedicated service.  While working at Powertrain, Lyle had the prestigious reputation to be the “go to” guy when it came to problem solving and welding of the most complicated jobs.  Lyle was also a big fan of the Daily 3 and 4 Michigan lottery games which he played every day. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. 

     Surviving are four children: Carolyn Auch and her children: Christina (Jason) Cray, Lisa (Kevin) Farrell, Matthew (Connie) Auch, Patrick (Amber) Auch, Mary Beth (Josh) Auch and Eric (Mandi) Auch, Lyle’s deceased son Dennis Haggitt and his daughter Melanie (Matthew) Corrion, Mike (Linda) Haggitt and their children: Stephanie Schrems, Amy (Dave) Sikorski, Ken (Lisa) Haggitt and Heather Schrems, Connie (Joseph) Russell and their children, Chad (Lindsey) Russell and Rachael (Ryan) Corby and MaryEllen Haggitt and her children, Jena (William Selleck) Gutierrez and Emilia (Ben Turner) Gutierrez, several great grandchildren, one sister Linda Neprud, one sister in-law Susi Haggitt, several nieces and nephews.  Lyle was predeceased by his son Dennis, one brother Keith Haggitt and five sisters: Marion Marchlewicz, Lucille Smith, Nancy Williams, Betty Cummings and Evelyn Auer.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708.  Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and at church on Monday after 9:00 am.  A Parish Vigil Service for Lyle will be held Sunday at 7:00 pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.” 

     The Haggitt family would like to thank all the staff and doctors at Bay County Medical Care Facility for their kind and compassionate care they gave their father over the past 6 years.
