Kenneth J. Botkins
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence, age 77. Ken was born July 29, 1941 in Fairgrove, Michigan to the late Joseph and Helene (Dudek) Botkins. He married Patricia Wachowski on November 30, 1963 and she survives him. Ken retired from Delphi after more than 30 years of dedicated service and was a member of All Saints Parish-St. James Church. He was a lector at church and a member of Gateway Sportsman Club and the NRA. Ken enjoyed gardening, hunting, and making sausage. He also, was an accomplished cook and the king of barbecue.
Surviving besides his wife Patricia are two sons, Kevin (friend Heather) Botkins and Jeffrey Botkins, grandson Sean Botkins, sisters and brothers: Lorraine (Mike) O'Shea, Char (Mike) Downing and CJ (Carol) Botkins, sisters in-law: Sally (friend Tim) Kelly, Joyce (friend Dick) Pappas and Nancy Reminder, a brother in-law Kenny (Joanne) Wachowski, many special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and his furry buddy, his dog Bonnie. Ken was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Helene and his in-laws, Conrad (Florence) Wachowski.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at All Saints Parish-St. James Church. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass. Friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and at church on Friday after 10:00 am. A Parish Vigil Service for Ken will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to All Saints Parish or the American Cancer Society.
Ken's family would like to thank Dr. K for her professionalism and friendship. Also, McLaren Hospice and Home Care nurses and staff, especially Lynn Ann and Becky for their compassionate care they gave Ken and his entire family over past several emotional days. An extra special thank you to all of our family, relatives and fellow parishioners for their continued support, cards and blessings.
