Rosebrock, Kathleen Frances “Aunt Kay”
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved wife, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Bay County Medical Care Facility in Essexville, Michigan. Age 83 years. Kay was born on August 17, 1935 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Lawrence A. and Dora (Zimmerman) Parent. She graduated from Bay City Central High School’s Class of 1954. On May 19, 1956 inside Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kay married the love of her life, Nelson M. Rosebrock, and he survives her. Kay and her husband have both been active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church since marriage. Kay began her career working for S.S. Kresge in Bay City. After they closed, she began to work as an Assistant Manager for K-Mart in Bay City and Saginaw. After nearly 40 years of service with the company, Kay retired. She was a longtime member of the AMVets Post 22. While a member, Kay served as a Ladies Auxiliary President and she was very active with the Friday Bingo. She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing bingo, and going to the casino. Her favorite machine to play at the casino was the Lucky 7 Machine. Most importantly, she loved and would do anything for her family; especially her numerous nieces and nephews. Aunt Kay was always the first one to drop everything and help whenever needed. Kay will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 63 years, Nelson M. Rosebrock; sister-in-law, Donna VanAlst; brothers-in-law, Otto Rosebrock and Bob Young; and numerous nieces and nephews. After a period of separation, Kay is finally reunited with her parents, Lawrence A. and Dora (Zimmerman) Parent; and siblings, William “Bill” Parent, Robert “Bob” Parent, Floyd “Buck” Parent, Joyce Young, Alice Parent, Mary Jane Parent, and Rhea Ellavich.
Kay’s family would like to extend a special, Thank You, to the 2 West staff and the Activities Department at the Bay County Medical Care Facility, and the 3 East staff members of the McLaren Bay Region Hospital for the care and compassion that they provided to Kay and her family.
