Jane G. Kozakiewicz “Kozak”
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at New Hope Bay in Essexville with her husband Bernie by her side, age 88. Jane was born March 15, 1929 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Paul Omer and Louise (Leppek) McCure. She married Bernie A. Kozakiewicz June 10, 1950 in St. Hyacinth Church and he survives her. Jane was a lifelong active member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. She loved to go to the casino, play golf, travel and entertain friends and business associates with Bernie. Jane had a passion for playing Bridge and achieved the title “Life Master” while playing all around the state.
Surviving besides her husband Bernie are three children: Karen Kozak, Patrick Kozakiewicz and Daniel (Sarah) Kozakiewicz, five grandchildren: Nathan (Cindy Forster) Caspers, Nicole Caspers, Emily, Michael, and Monica Kozakiewicz, two sisters in-law, Vicky Niemann and Sally Ertel and many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her son David A. Kozakiewicz, grandson Eric Kozakiewicz and siblings: Paul Arthur (Pearl) McCure, Lucille (Bill) Schumacher, Jack (Hazel) McCure, Dorothy (Edward) Magryta, James (Mary) McCure, Irene (Harry) Gay, an infant brother Isadore McCure and several brothers and sisters in-law.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and entombment will be in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and at church on Saturday after 8:00 am. A Parish Vigil Service will be held Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
