Jacob A. Nalazek
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully Saturday, September 7, 2019 at his home, age 79. He was born November 1, 1939 in Bay City, Michigan to the late William W. and Margaret M. (Bednarek) Nalazek. Jacob graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in 1958 and then went on to Bay City Junior College where he would excel to the top of his class. He would start his apprenticeship with General Motors and quickly become a tool and die maker at Saginaw Steering Gear. While working at Steering Gear and later Delphi he taught Geometric Tolerancing as well as his normal work load. Jacob married Lois G. King on June 20, 1964 and she predeceased him on September 4, 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church and the UAW Local #699. He was known for his meticulous and organized ways of doing things or storing things. From his drawers at home to his tools in the garage, everything had a place and even an outline where it came from. Jacob could fix anything in need of repair and was known for his handyman skills. He was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching football and spending time with his grandchildren which he loved and adored.
Jacob is survived by his children: Jeff (Lisa) Nalazek, Brian Nalazek, Amy Johnroe and Kelly (Mike) Erdody, nine grandchildren: Nicole, Megan, Julie, Andrew, Giselle, Mia, Jordan, Vincent and Stephen, one brother Ted Nalazek and one sister Mary (Paul) Jezowski. Jacob was predeceased by a sister-in-law Michelle Nalazek.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Tuesday after 9:00 AM. A Parish Vigil Service for Jacob will be held Monday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
