Cole, George L. Jr.
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Bay City, Michigan in the morning hours of Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Age 68 years. George was born in Columbus, Georgia on August 19, 1950 to his parents, George L., Sr. and Pauline (Herzog) Cole. His world revolved around his wife; he loved her, spoiled her, and care endlessly for her. After many years of work, he retired from Allied Office Interiors. George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, puzzle books, playing basketball with his grandchildren, and being outside. Nothing meant more to George than spending time with his family; especially his wife and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 25 years, Deborah K. (Hurry) Cole; children, Gerald Paul (Bambi) Niedzielski, Christopher (Katie) Kasper, Melissa (Brad) Rickert, Adam (Terri) Cole, and Sharon Dashkovitz; grandchildren, Britnee, Jeremiah, Amanuel, Kaden, Liam, Matthew, Adlynn, Andrew, Aaron, Christian, Layla, Brian, Olivia, Lauren; mother, Pauline Cole; fur baby, Maxie Max; siblings, Sue (Tom) Causley, Barb (Tom) Ladisky, Carol (Scot) Compton, Richard Cole, and Sally (Larry) Kravat; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. After many years apart, George is reunited with his father, George L. Cole Sr.; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Janette Hurry.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Ambrose Funeral Chapel in Bay City, Michigan from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m. a Military Honors Ceremony will be performed, at the funeral home, by the Bay County Veteran Honor Guard. Those attending the services have been asked by the family to dress comfortably; “Please wear jeans and be comfortable, it is the way George would have wanted it”. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Wishes of the Family”. www.ambrosefuneralchapel.com
