Everett J. Anderson "Andy"

July 29, 1931 ~ May 24, 2018 (age 86)

Mr. Anderson passed away Thursday evening, May 24, 2018 at his home with his daughter and son-in-law by his side, age 86. Everett was born July 29, 1931 in Bay City to the late Thomas and Rosella (Cragg) Anderson. He married Blanche F. Janowicz in Angola, Indiana on May 28, 1956 and she predeceased him on July 18, 2016. Everett was a veteran and served his country with the US Army. He worked as a railroad switchman for New York Central and worked in construction before retiring from Steering Gear Plant 6. Everett was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church and throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed gardening, splitting wood, and “scrapping” metal. The family wishes to thank special friends and neighbors Ray and Kerri Meeks, for going above and beyond in helping to care for Everett.

Surviving is his daughter Jan-Marie (Russell) Robinson, whom he affectionately called “Marie”, one brother, Charles Anderson; his sister-in-law, Alice and many nieces and nephews. Everett was predeceased by a son Everett Jay Anderson “E-Jay” in 1961 along with his siblings, John (Bonnie), Eldon, Darrell (Irene), Telford (Judy), Luella (Ivan) Coffell, Eleanor (Howard) Meyers.  His father and mother-in-law, Edward and Eva (Gielda) Janowicz preceded him in death along with his in-laws: Theresa (Eugene) Sporman, Sophie (Matthew) Satkowiak, Fr. Barney Janowicz, Edwin (Betty) Janowicz and Helen (Ray) Jankowski.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish – St. John's Church, Essexville, Michigan. Fr. Dale Orlik will preside and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and at church on Friday after 9:00 a.m. A Parish Vigil Service will take place Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the wishes of the family.
