Erma M. Kisser
Bay City, Michigan
Erma passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region, age 92. She was born October 5, 1925 in Lapeer, Michigan to the late Ray and Martha (Stier) Shurlow. Erma married Earl G. Kisser on June 28, 1952 and he predeceased her on May 21, 1992. She graduated from Central Michigan University and then went on to the University of Michigan where she received her Master’s Degree in education. Erma was an elementary school teacher at Whittier School and retired in 1984 after 33 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Grace Church, formerly Christ United Methodist and the Senior Club at church. Erma loved gardening roses and had hundreds of them to show her talent for keeping them healthy.
Surviving is a son Rick Kisser, one daughter Ann (Rick Heeke) Kudwa, four grandchildren: Sara and Patricia Kudwa, and their father Mark Kudwa, Kelly (Sean) Davis and Kyle (Amber) Kisser, and their mother Sherry Kisser, three great grandchildren: Evan Michael Kudwa, Alyssa and Aiden Davis, one brother Elmer (MaryAnn) Shurlow, nephews, Jim Shurlow and Dr. Charles (Christa) Shurlow, special sister in-law Wilma Phillips and a special friend Marcia Dockett. Erma was predeceased by a brother in-law Bill Kisser.
The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 4:30 PM at Grace Church, 4267 2 Mile Road, Bay City, MI 48706. Pastor Eric Kieb will officiate and private entombment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Wednesday after 3:30 PM.
