Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side on Friday, October 12, 2018. Donna was born in Bay City, Michigan on December 4, 1940 to the late John and Dorothy (Borton) Jaskiewicz. On July 25, 1959 she married the love of her life James E. Hopkins and they have resided in Bay City ever since. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church. In her free time she enjoyed reading, taking trips to the casino, and playing cards. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends, and expressed an enormous amount of joy towards her grand-dogs.
Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Edward Hopkins Sr., Becky (William) Davison, and Amy (Tom McHenry) Hopkins; several grandchildren, Jamie Hopkins, Edward Hopkins Jr. Scott Hopkins, Timothy (Sara) Hopkins, William Davison, Zachary Davison, and Colin Sitkowski; nine great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Jamal, Trent, Tene, Teonna, Kaylee, Bentley, Ian, and one more on the way; two sisters, Judy (Gerry) Moore and Arlene (Max) Leitermann; many special nieces, nephews, and grand-dogs. She is welcomed into Heaven’s Gates by her parents, John and Dorothy (Borton) Jaskiewicz; and her sister and best friend, Joeann Rangel.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the McLaren Hospice for the care and compassion that they provided to their mother.
The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish- St. Hyacinth Church at 10:00 a.m. Celebrant will be Fr. Rick Filary. Visitation will take place at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home.
