Dolores passed away peacefully early Friday morning May 25, 2018 at her home, age 95. She was born September 29, 1922 in Bay City to the late Frank and Gladys (Skrzypczak) Glaza. Dolores was a talented organist and vocalist. She played the organ for 22 years at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Church for two years. Dolores sang The Lord’s Prayer and Polish folk songs for the House of Representatives in Lansing. She sang at the Germania Club Concert, Ojibway Island and was a soloist with Bay City’s Soprano. Dolores retired from Bay County Friend of the Court as a clerk in 1983 with more than 39 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, the Rosary Society and a funeral luncheon volunteer. She traveled all over Europe and enjoyed her visits with relatives in Warsaw, Poland.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters: Frank Jr., Albin, Florian (Romaine), Joseph, Cyril, Walter (Valerie) and Arthur Glaza, Florence Glaza, Genevieve (Chester) Maciejewski and Salomea Glaza.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 – 8:00 PM and at church on Thursday after 9:00 AM. Members of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish will pray the Rosary Wednesday at 2:00 PM, followed later in the evening by a Parish Vigil Service for Dolores at 7:00 PM, both at the funeral home.
