Dennis Michael Holka
Bay City, Michigan
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at his home, age 67. Dennis was born March 26, 1951 in Bay City to the late Eugene and Evelyn (Mazurowski) Holka. He was a Vietnam veteran and served his country with the US Army. Dennis married the love of his life Lynn A. Satkowiak in St. Hyacinth Church on April 16, 1977 and she survives him. He retired from Delphi in July of 2004 after 31 years of dedicated service and later worked at Adesa Auto Auctions on M-15. Dennis was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. He enjoyed University of Michigan football, hunting, camping and playing golf with the guys regularly. Most importantly, Dennis loved spending time with his granddaughter Kaylee.
Surviving besides his wife Lynn is a son Kevin E. (Carrie) Holka, granddaughter Kaylee Holka, two sisters, Joanne Norton and Mary (Bill) Jacobs, one brother Paul (Jan) Holka, step-sister Arlene (Bob) Gorney, step-brother Terry (husband, Michael Shane) Jezowski, mother in-law Barb Satkowiak and sisters-in-law: Katherine Wilkinson, Sharon Ligney, Debbie Peterson, Lori (Dave) Grzegorczyk and Barbee (Troy) Ritsema, many nieces and nephews and very special friends: Bob (Vicki) Taylor and Peter Rajewski. Also, Dennis’ grand labradoodle Chloe. Dennis was predeceased by his step-father Raymond Jezowski, step-brother Daniel Jezowski, step-sister Carol (Roger) Murray, father-in-law Louis Satkowiak, two brothers-in-law, Ed Ligney and Jeff Peterson and a nephew Scott Holka.
Lynn and Kevin would like to take this opportunity to thank hospice nurses Nicole and Tiffany for the genuine and compassionate care they not only gave Dennis but to us as well.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass. Military honors, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council will follow Mass outside at the north entrance to church. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and at church on Friday after 9:00 am.
