Schmidt, Ann Marie
Bay City, Michigan
Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Caretel Inn of Bay City, Michigan. Age 90 years. Ann was born on June 19, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Anna (Smrecak) Jagelka. On January 27, 1951 Ann married the love of her life, Ira Schmidt, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2007. Ann worked on her family’s farm, Schmidt Farm, in Frankenlust Township for the majority of her life. Ann was a past member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and is a current and longtime member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish. Every year one of Ann’s favorite events to look forward to was working on the pumpkin farm. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting; Ann would crochet regularly at her home in the evening hours. Ann had many joys in life, but nothing that compared to the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her four children, Randal (Karen) Schmidt, Ricky (Annette George) Schmidt, Rhonda (Thomas) Habowski, and Renee DeShano; grandchildren, Carrie (Kevin) Holka, Julie Schmidt, Tiffany Schmidt, Joshua (wife, Gina Katzmark) Schmidt, Hope (Selim) Comert, Kirk Habowski, Keith (Sierra) Habowski, Kyle DeShano, and Paige DeShano; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mary Jean (Gordon) Kraft; sisters-in-law, Delores (John) Guettler and Shirley Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann is finally reunited with her husband, Ira Schmidt; parents, Frank and Anna (Smrecak) Jagelka; two-brothers, Frank Jagelka and Robert Jagelka; and brother-in-law, Leslie Gray.
Private family committal prayers and interment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to “Alzheimer’s Association”. For online condolences please visit, www.AmbroseFuneralChapel.com
